Artist Statement
I paint as a way of listening—to life, to mystery, to what is waiting to emerge, to be revealed.
Before attending a daylong painting workshop in 2018, I hadn’t painted since kindergarten. Standing before the easel, I felt both excitement and disorientation—as if I were searching for a dormant, untouched facet of myself. It felt distant and unfamiliar, yet also like home.
I left that day with a wild, unexpected image and a deep pull to explore the creative voice that speaks without words. My soul knew I needed to focus my attention here—to follow where it led and witness what would organically emerge.
That pull has never left me. Every time I paint, I discover who I am. Sometimes I set out with an intention, but often, I meet the unknown as it rises—the colors that call to me, the faces that form, the eyes that gaze back. And when I look into their eyes, I feel seen.
My art is not just a reflection of me—it is an invitation for you to see yourself, to connect to something wordless, yet deeply known.
